American Legion Auxiliary

The American Legion Auxiliary met at 6:30 p.m. on April 15 at the American Legion Post Home.

There were seven members present. The minutes from the last meeting were read, the treasurer’s report was given and a report on the Silent Auction held in February was heard.

The membership stands at 83 paid members, and we still have a ways to go to make our goal of 101. If you haven’t paid your dues, please do so as soon as possible.

We heard a tentative date for the River Run Poker Run and Chicken Burn that is planned by the Legion Family. We also set a date for our flea market and Slave Auction that we have been planning, and decided where the proceeds from this project will go.

Volunteers cleaned the kitchen at the American Legion Post Home April 26 and 27. Our president, Fran Payne-Rogers, received a certificate of achievement for submitting outstanding narrative reports for the 2013-14 year.

Kathleen Martin and Mandy Cooper will be election committee for the election of officers for the 2014-15 year. Ballots will be mailed to members and need to be returned as soon as possible.
