Postal reform to protect rural post offices

Legislation was passed Thursday by the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee that would protect United States Postal Service rural post offices, according to United States Sen. Mike Enzi.

Enzi said the bill would help protect rural post offices from closing, restructure postal rates and maintain second amendment rights. Enzi voted in favor of the bill and said he believes the legislation goes a long way to making the postal service viable by injecting competition into its business plan.
