Businesses make birthday dinners better

Seven people played bingo on Monday. Two-dollar winners were Merle Starr, Sue Howe, Madaline Forbes, Betty Dean, and Berneil McCord. Madaline Forbes and Betty Dean shared the $4 blackout round.

There were four here for Bridge on Monday. High winner was Mary Alice Sjoden.

We had a fair turnout for our birthday dinner Friday. Those having birthdays this month are Grace Johnston, Joy Hamilton, Sue Howe, Jack Riddick, J.R. Henslee, Joan Anderson, Donna Zeiger, Merle Starr, Truth Karstoft, Jim Davis, and Jim Hammer. Jack Riddick won the birthday tree. Teense Willford was here this month. We missed seeing him last month. We always enjoy him being here to entertain. We want to let Teense know we really do appreciate what he does for us whenever we ask him to. Also, we would like to thank the Rawlins National Bank for donating the birthday cakes for our birthday dinner every third Friday of every month. And also to Connie McGuire for the beautiful flowers she brings up for all the birthday people every month. We really appreciate all of you. And we would like to invite you all to come join us for lunch any time so we can thank you in person.

Our money-making pancake breakfast turned out pretty well for the first fundraiser. We only had 30 people, but that isn’t bad for the first one. I want to thank everyone that came to help, Winnie Allen, Grace Johnston, Frances Kirby, Lisa Fluty, Shelby Howe and Ed Howe. It was fun hanging out with all of you that morning. Now it is on to the next fundraiser.

We will be having a movie Thursday. It will be “Identity Theft”. Please plan to join us and have some popcorn.

We will be having a breakfast on Friday at 8 a.m. We will be serving French toast, bacon or sausage and juice. Our count has been down, so we will try to raise it with a breakfast. Then we will be having lunch at noon as usual. If you want to join us please call and get your name on the list.

We want to wish Lisa Engstrom a speedy recovery. She had elbow surgery last Thursday. Lisa is our Director in Rawlins.

We also want to send Pat Faust our get well wishes. She ended up in the hospital again Monday. We all hope you are home very soon.

Also, Pat Faust had to go back to the hospital and we want to wish her a speedy recovery as well.
