Plenty of activities

At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.

Games throughout the week provided fun and laughter. On Sunday afternoon, four residents played Uno with Truth Karstoft winning. On Wednesday afternoon, nine residents played Bingo, and on Friday afternoon, eight residents played Bingo. Truth Karstoft, Nadine Caleb, Pat Sims, and Dora Martin won Four Corners. Frank Jereb, Carol Higby, and Nadine Caleb won Blackouts. Our Bingo helpers were Gloria Rakness, Betty Dean, and Lila Worden. On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack.

For Lunch Out at the Saratoga Senior Center, four residents had spaghetti with meat sauce on Monday, and four residents had French Dip on Friday.

Residents watched the Turner Classic Movie channel evenings during the week. On Tuesday afternoon, four residents watched the VCR movie, “Crocodile Dundee”.

On Monday and Thursday mornings, residents finished Mary Higgins Clark’s “No Place Like Home” in Reading Fun. On Friday morning, residents began a new book, “Robin Cook’s Acceptable Risk”.

On Sunday afternoon, Pastor Hughes of the Abundant Life Fellowship led church for residents. Doris Davis assisted on the keyboard with traditional religious music.

On Tuesday morning, Pastor Hughes offered Bible Study to four residents.

On Wednesday morning, Janice Kerpan gave beautiful hairdos to seven ladies in Hair Care, and Brenda Zeiger did nails for five of those ladies..

On Thursday afternoon, five residents did a decorated play dough project in Arts and Crafts.

On Saturday afternoon, residents played Blackjack. Afterward, they enjoyed ice cream sandwiches.
