A voice in the wind ... oil and gas too

Saratoga Sun Editorial

Carbon County is becoming No. 1 in the nation for energy development, with projects like wind farms, new wells at the Creston-Continental Divide and huge transmission line projects.

These new developments in energy production mean change is coming

According to the board members of Voices of the Valley, an organization that is looking to give local residents a voice, you can have a say in what that change will look like.

Your thoughts can be relevant, especially to your town council, county commissioners and others in our communities who make the decisions about what our county and Valley will look like in the future.

Years ago, Carbon County Commissioner Art Zeiger said, “We are on the cusp of something big.”

That something big is getting closer every day.

Housing shortages are predicted. Tourism could be affected if hotels fill up with workers.

Man camps are likely.

Our county leaders are trying to get a grasp of how local residents feel about the change that is coming.

Voices of the Valley is offering an opportunity to amplify your voice. Before they can do that, they have to know what you are thinking.

Now is the time to get involved in your community and speak up. Voices of the Valley is looking for more input.
