    U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi (R) hosted a meet and greet at the Platte Valley Community Center on May 10 after touring the Saratoga Forest Management sawmill.     2 years ago May 22, 1913 “The Freshmen” at Hanna Miss Purvis, the principal of the public school, and the high school room, has gotten up a play “The Freshmen” which will be given here at the Commencement exercises in the hall at 8 o’clock on the evening of the 29th. The play was taken to Hanna last Friday and put on at the Hanna opera house to a good big crowd and was much enjoyed.     There were 11 here to play bingo Tuesday. The two-dollar winner was Dorothy Miller. Three-dollar winners were, Winnie Allen, Janet Lasco, Merle Starr, Pat Faust.     At Deseret Health and Rehab, residents enjoyed many activities throughout the week. The Activity Department offers a wide variety of activities each week to meet the residents’ interests, as well as the physical, mental and psychological well-being of each resident.     Braxton Schwartzkopf wrapped up the spring golf season on a high note last weekend, taking first place again at the 2A regional and conference tournament in Evanston. Schwartzkopf shot a total score of 156, consisting of 80 points from Friday and 76 from Saturday. Chaze Wiant took 10th place from a 211 score, which included separate scores of 103 and 108.     After an impressive weekend at regionals, six Encampment Tigers are now headed to the 2014 Wyoming State High School Track and Field Meet in Casper. Out of the seven team competitors, McKenzie Powell, Alyssa Barkhurst, Karie Russell, Guy Erickson, KeeGan Johnson and Jacob Wells all qualified for state last weekend at their regional meet in Lander.     The American Legion Post #54 in Saratoga and Veterans of Foreign Wars #6125 in Encampment are hosting Memorial Day services to honor the fallen soldiers of wars past and present. The American Legion’s service begins at 11 a.m. at the Valley Chapel at the Saratoga Cemetery.
