    Saratoga High School cross- country returned home after a successful outing at the Ft. Bridger Invitational in Fort Bridger, Thursday. Middle School Boys performed well, with three runners finishing the 2.2 mile run in the top 10. Gavin Bartlett completed the run in 13:19, good for third place. Grant Bartlett turned in a fifth place performance with a 13:18 run and Grady Bartlett’s 13:36 time was good for seventh place.     A tax on energy generated by wind that was proposed earlier in the year by the Wyoming Legislature’s Joint Revenue Committee (JRC) was nixed Thursday, removing uncertainty for the builder of the Chokecherry/Sierra Madre windfarm in Carbon County.     A new daycare and preschool will be opening in Saratoga, offering much needed childcare options to residents. The center, Tomorrow’s Promise, will open at 1012 W. Bridge Avenue in Saratoga Oct. 1, according to the campus director, Priscilla Schmidt. The center will offer daycare options as well as preschool education.     Following an anonymous email threat, Carbon County School District #2 placed all schools in the district on lockout status Thursday. Jim Copeland, CCSD #2 superintendent of schools, said the district received an alert from the Wyoming Department of Homeland Security advising them of an anonymous threat made by email. The anonymous email said “Wyoming was being turned to dust” and then went on to issue threats against a large number of public buildings in the state.     Saratoga Panther cross-country runners did not let a cold and rainy day deter them from running in the Shana Ward Memorial Invitational held at the Saratoga Resort and Spa Friday.     Saratoga High School’s cross country team crossed a lot of country this past weekend on the way to the Liberty Bell Invite in Littleton, Colo. The team fielded 11 runners in the varsity boys’ competition, and two runners in the varsity girls’ field. Varsity boys saw two athletes finish in the top 20, with Reid Schroeder turning in a tenth place finish with a time of 17:24, while Ben Fairbanks came in 15th place with a time of 17:54.
